Dancers may know how to dance, but not necessarily how to teach dance. A dance teacher may know how to choreograph, but may be limited in his/her knowledge of choreography for film, which is an entirely different and specific artform in itself. Film choreographers often understand the camera and choregraphy, but may be limited in dance styles or their ability to work with actors of all levels in their dance abilities. A strong background in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Tumbling and Hip Hop, as well as 35 years of experience in teaching dance to beginners as well as professionals, is intertwined with a working knowledge of film, is not typical. The result is an unusual ability to not only choreograph, but also to choreograph specifically for the angles and needs of the camera, AND the ability to teach the true performance of it to the actors on camera in a positive, and comforting way. This is the skill set you have on your side when you hire Kim Swanson to choreograph!

“Again, just wanted to say thanks for everything yesterday. Everything went super smooth and the girls were all excellent. I especially appreciate your and Pattie’s attention to detail and high caliber of choreography. You guys did incredible in such a spontaneous environment. Couldn’t have done it without you!”
